Have you ever seen robots in movies that does basic actions and moves that us as human does? Well that kind of technology in movies is the beginnings of Artificial Intelligence or AI for short. Sunil Kumar quoted that , "Artificial Intelligence is the ability of a computer program to learn and think. Everything can be considered Artificial intelligence if it involves a program doing something that we would normally think would rely on the intelligence of a human" (Kumar, p1, 2019). This means that this emerging technology in society is a type of technology that gives machines and devices basic actions and thinking to act like a regular human. This technology is still in the developing stages , but it is steadily growing with the amount of time and effort that everyone is putting in in AI. The growing and development of AI is growing everyday to the point where it is something that we will use in our daily routine.
The benefits of the Artificial Intelligence includes reduces human error, works 24/7 and takes more risks than humans. By creating robots and machines that can act and think like us, it will reduce the amount of error we make and make products and items as the best that they can. Another benefit is that they we can all day everyday because they can will without any breaks which will increase productivity and efficiency at work. Lastly, Sunail kumar said that, "We can overcome many risky limitations of humans by developing an AI Robot which in turn can do the risky things for us. Let it be going to mars, defuse a bomb, explore the deepest parts of oceans, mining for coal and oil, it can be used effectively in any kind of natural or man-made disasters" (Kumar, p.2, 2019). This means that we can use AIs to find new information and data on important things without in any risks.
The risks of using Artificial Intelligence in the society is the cost to make AIs and the risk of people losing jobs. The cost to make and maintain AI will be very expensive and costly since this kinds of technology will be needing updates on hardware and software and maintenance and repairing to be working hard every day. Another drawback to using AI in that Ai will replace many jobs in society since it can do basic actions in a more effective and efficient manner. Kumar stated that "Every organization is looking to replace the minimum qualified individuals with AI robots which can do similar work with more efficiency"(Kumar, p.3, 2019). This will affect a lot of people in the field in they are not qualified or barely qualified. Artificial Intelligence is important and risky technology for the today's digital world and for the future.
