To start off the blog, what exactly is Internet of Things? It sounds like a things that you found in the internet. Well that's not the case because according to Matt Burgress, the Internet of Things refers to " everything connected to the internet, but it is increasingly being used to define objects that "talk" to each other. "Simply, the Internet of Things is made up of devices – from simple sensors to smartphones and wearables – connected together" (Burgress, p.1, 2018). This means that the Internet of Things are devices that connect to the internet such as appliances, wireless internet moderns, software, sensors and smart technologies that can give any person or user a way of communication or sending information and data. Pretty much any physical device or object that can connect to the internet and give communication to users around the area or world. The use of Internet of Things does is create data and information and report that data to other people around the world. With more and more devices being connect to the internet from a set location, it will create a system when creating data will be complex and benefits not just themselves but everyone in the world.

The benefits of using Internet of Things is that its improves efficiency and create better decision making. For instance, Internet of things improves efficiency by making work have a potential of generating more productive work and rewards. Atlantic BT stated that "smart assembly lines could report errors in real time. This produces higher yields and less downtime" (Atlantic BT, p4,2018). By creating a system that is productive, it will have less errors and more time to work. Internet of Things also can spark better decision making by look at the data given by Internet of Things. People and works can analyze and observe the data and information to make smart ideas and analysis from trends that was given by the data.
The risks that Internet of Things imposes is the privacy and how complex data can become. Just like many emerging technologies in the world, you will be making a lot of technological advances for the society, but would have to look out for the safety, privacy and security sides of things. Atlantic BT concluded that, "the IoT equivalent of having a username/password combo of “admin” and “password”" (AtlanticBT, p.1, 2018). This means that the Internet of Thing defense is at minimum and will get more security and privacy as time passes. Another risk is how complex the data can become. With Internet of things, providing and generate a lot of information and data, it more and more difficult and confusing to look through data unless filtered correctly. It will give users a lot of time to look through everything information keeps piling up. Internet of Things is an interesting featuring towards emerging technology and it will continue to improve communications between technology and people and social aspects in the community.
